Jam Station Music offers professional guitar lessons for students of all ages, based in Nunawading and conveniently located for families in Blackburn, Box Hill, Mitcham, Vermont and Forest Hill. Whether you’re picking up a guitar for the first time or working toward a formal qualification, lessons are structured to build real skill in a friendly, patient learning environment — focusing on Rock, Blues, Jazz, Soul and Funk styles.
What You’ll Learn
No experience? No worries — many students start as complete beginners, and lessons are paced to keep you motivated from your very first session. If you’d simply like to learn your favourite songs, just let your teacher know a week in advance and a lesson plan will be prepared around them. For students wanting to go further, lessons also cover music theory and how it applies directly to the guitar, building toward composition and performance skill.
Structured Progression (Exams)
For students who want formal recognition of their progress, we prepare serious students for RSL (AMEB) and RGT@LCM exams. Upon completion of the graded study materials, students can sit performance exams leading to an internationally recognised qualification — available from beginner grades right through to diploma level, with UCAS points on offer at higher grades.

Your Teacher
Lessons are taught by Pat Lajoie, a Registered Guitar Tutor at the London College of Music with international performance experience. In addition to performing in the local jazz scene, Pat has previously had six years performing on cruise ships around the world. He holds qualifications from Berklee College of Music and now teaches guitar, piano, drums and voice exclusively at Jam Station Music. He also holds a current Working with Children Card.
